Boaters, Spreewald Canal (1994)

I have the good fortune to have dear friends in Germany, and one summer we spent a lovely day rowing through a network of quaint rural canals in an area northeast of Berlin called The Spreewald. (Pronounced approximately 'Spray-vald.') The soft summer light was so incredible, filtering through the cathedral arch of stately trees. It was a day that gave me several wonderful images, including "Spreewald Canal Reflections" in this same Portfolio. This was made from my boat as we glided through the silent water.
